Kicked 12 goals against Hawthorn in the 1981 Under 19 Semi Final, booted 117 for the season and played in the premiership team that year before graduating to the seniors in 1982.

His debut season was ruined by injury, and he continued to be a regular on the injury list over next year before breaking out for 17 games in 1984.

Crossed to Sydney in 1988 but kicked just three goals in five games.
